Action "IS" Columbia's answer
« on: April 05, 2006, 07:15:02 PM »
This ball it a proven winner, its strong in the midlane and finishes hard, and carries corners well, keeping pins low on the deck.

I am really surprised they actually released the ball at 1200 grit.

I hit mine with a grey pad (950 grit average) and it just smoothed out the entire roll of this ball, reading better, and finishing with less of a snap, and more of a HARD controllable arc.

Ball is money!

Anyone else scoring with this gem?

have you ever tried abralon pads?
we have had a lot of success using these pads in place of scuff pads.
500 - 1000 for more oil,  seems to give the ball more backend than a grey pad.
2000 for lt. - med. oil,  seems to give the ball the length with more control on the backend,  and 4000 for dry to light,  gives the length with a strong backend,  less over and under than polish.
we have some bowlers complain that there action's were getting flat on the backend. using a 2000 abralon pad brought the cover back to life with more backend.  the pads are expense tho.

Grey pad is 800 but I know what you mean by them having it be 1200 OOB. They probly did this the same way track released the animal with a compound finish. This is usally done because most bowlers dont buy a ball drill it and then change the cover to make it work the way they want. They mostly get the ball drill it and expect it to perform they way they wanted it to right after it is drilled. This way they dont get mad when they take it on a THS and it hooks off the lane at 35 feet or it burns up and rolls out

and I said "PLEASE, I ONLY WANT TO GET ONE MORE BALL." he responded "THAT WAS WHAT 12 BALLS AGO." I said back "WELL, YA BUT THAT IS NOT THE POINT."

jls31316, the guy that taught me drilling and taught me to use my ball spinner is kinda old fashioned when it comes to sanding balls...

However, I really do nee to try the Abralon pads.

How many uses are you getting out of one pad anyway?
