Drilling Question - C300 Crazy Antics vs C300 Takedown
« on: January 13, 2014, 06:24:43 AM »
I need some advice from the ball drillers out there.
I have a right handed female friend 195+ average who recently purchased a 14lb C300 Crazy Antics and a 14lb C300 Takedown.  She is very happy with the Takedown but not the Antics.  I watched her bowl and the release is the same for both balls but the Takedown revs up quicker and she is much more comfortable with that.  I checked the RG and differential on both balls.  Even though they are the same, they have different cores.  Her ball speed is 12.9 to 13.10 at the pins and she comes around the ball.  Good classic form from college.  The difference between the two is the drill.  I do not know why the drills were selected, but the Takedown pin is above the ring finger and the Antics is off label to the left and the pin is about 3-4 inches to the right of the ring finger.  Both have about a 3/4 dia weight hole in the P3 position.  How can we redrill the Antics to rev up quicker and faster like the Takedown?
14lb 15.5 mph at pins 325 Revs. Silver Coach, Ball Driller. In Bag:  Storm Pro-Motion, Hyroad X, Matchup, Code Red.

The same layout if she releases the same will have the same basic principle for her no matter the ball.

That may have sounded a little funny but basically the same layout will have the same basic principle on each ball but the rg and diff of each ball will alter that principle if that makes any sense. Same layout different balls= different variations of the same principle

Have you tried surface adjustments to the crazy antics?

Different surfaces have been tried with the little or no difference.  If we make the layout the same (pin position) it should react similarly to the Takedown?  Also, how does the pin kicked out to the right by 3 inches have a dramatic effect on the visual rotation of the ball?

With a Pin up ball cg kicked to the right your going to have a ball that is more "violent" on the backend it will be more flippy that way if that makes sense and yes they will have the same shape they will read at different points but have the same overall shape with the same layout

Do even changing the drill to the same as the Takedown will not have any effect on the revs she is getting out of the ball?  The slow revs we are seeing are based on the Core shape and the surface?

If she likes the shape of the take down and what she sees out of it she will more then likely like the ca at the same layout
