I had the opportunity to meet Joe Jozwik of Columbia 300 this evening at Freeway Lanes in Parma, Ohio.
Joe brought in tow the latest Columbia 300 releases, which included the Action Max, Wrath, Wrath XP, Jinx, and Hijinx. The appearance of the balls itself is an improvement over many in the past, but the story with the new releases may be the commitment of the "new" Columbia Industries.
Columbia seeks to create a line which is the benchmark for the company and bowlers alike. The goal is for the Action line to carry the mantle, which has led Columbia to testing equipment and formulas as thoroughly as ever before.
In spending a few hours at Freeway, Joe answered numerous questions about the new product line, the reaction and expectation of the equipment. An avid 'pro shop guy', Joe watched many bowlers, answering questions and offering tips regarding equipment matchups and general bowling technique.
If you have questions about Columbia equipment or the new releases, give Joe a shout here in the forum, he stops in often. The one thing I can say from meeting and discussing 'bowling' with Joe is his passion for the game.....he doesn't give the salesman type speech many others preach.
As for the Action Max, the RG has been increased slightly to help the ball get down the lane, while storing power for a strong backend move. The M80 and M80/2 coverstock of the Action and Action Packed has been tweaked to provide a larger footprint on the lane.
And, this is a sharp looking ball.
Again, thanks Joe for the demonstration and discussion at Freeway Lanes.
