Distributors are getting the bal August 5th then it should be available to the public a week or so after that. That's according to the Columbia reprsentitives. Going to be quite expensive to my understanding.

Dont get your hopes up for this ball.
I tried mine last night and it did´ent do anything else
than my Absolut Inferno cant do, on heavy oil.
Maybe i drilled it wrong. I will plug it and drill it again.

How was it drilled and what reaction did you see? What were the lane conditions?

Sir Track,

From what I heard, this cover actually reading the lane not only by traction/friction, but also by chemical reaction.  If this is true, reaction on wood definately not the same on synthetic.  In your case most likely is DOA.  Its always the problem with enegy management on a strong ball.

Another thing about the cover, never use acetone one the cover, not even clean up the super glue when you glue your grips, acetone will make the cover turn white.

This is only what I heard, how true? I don't know

The acetone thing is crap.  I know a lot of guys that use acetone on their balls to clean them or to take off the shine without putting lines or surface on the ball.  this does nothing to the ball just makes it pick up in the oil a little quicker.

I think he is talking about the epoxy cover only.

In addition to referring to the epoxy cover specifically, what they're doing is illegal.  Whether it does anything to the ball or not is clearly open for debate.  But it is illegal.  It doesn't matter if you think it's a dumb rule, it's still a rule and using those balls in competition is illegal.

I think that if the epoxy cover is visibly altered by using acetone, that's great.

This has been debated on here a thousand times. But Shelley is correct. ABC (USBC) rules are clear, it is NEVER allowable to use acetone on a bowling ball that is to be used in sanctioned competition. I don't care about the crap that a lot of pro shops use it to clean glue, I posted here a year or so ago with a response from ABC (now USBC) and the rules are clear. You might get away with it (who would know) but it is still against the rules to EVER, EVER use acetone on a ball that will be used in sanctioned competition.

I spoke to Wes Malott and Chris Barnes about this ball at the Regional event in Rowlett last weekend and they both said this ball is a monstor. They both practiced with it but where NOT able to use it in the event since its not yet PBA approved. They expect it to be available for PBA use in the next week or so.
