« on: May 06, 2014, 10:38:49 PM »
Just wondering.  How does the Eruption Pro handle carrydown.

There is a guy using one in the open live broadcast. You can see it on YouTube. It was posted about two weeks ago. I was not impressed with the reaction he was getting. He changed to it after the lanes began to transition an had a hard time.

On the other hand, a couple of people have the ball in one of the league I bowl and it rolled good after the lanes broke down. Of course, there is a big difference in the open shot and our THS, although our THS is reputed to be the toughest in the area.

Do you happen to have a link to this on youtube?  I looked, but there must be 50 or more on there from the open.  Thanks.

At work now but I still have it pulled up at home on my laptop. Will send it to you tonight.

It is the video from the team that won all events last year with Steven Kovac (or Novak) and a guy by the name of Lacaar, if I remember correctly.

The anchor used the Eruption during the end of the second and third game of doubles. I believe his last name began with a V.

I have the orange and the black EP
i do like the black one better so far, its a bit longer and about 3 stronger off the spot
what i don't like is the fact that it is veryt ought o duplicate that surface.
I used the black 1 on a USBC blue2 pattern last weekend and it was great later in the block
stores a ton of energy downlane, pins fly everywhere

Are they both drilled the same?

for comparison sake, yes
the orange ball was originally pin down and the reaction is not what i wanted
went pin up and then adjusted surfaces
even though i have an adjustable speed spinner and all of the powerhouse products
i dont think i was able to replicate the factory surface

So my comparison might be a little flawed as I have not touched the black balls surface
but, i do know that the black one has the added length and motion that has worked well so far.
the orange one didnt seem to go quite as far down the lane for me.
its a minor observation at this point as I do know other people that love the orange 1
i would say that if you are rev dominant, you may want to think about a layout that will get it further down the lane, store some more energy
IMO, i can adjust more easily to late read than early read

Team USA Support. Erik Vermilyea. Used it a lot at Nationals. Used it last week in a tournament I manage to take over all events lead. He loves the orange ball. The black version is stronger but still smooth.
