Drilling question
« on: April 19, 2005, 01:06:37 PM »
Well, it seems I am going to be a proud owner of a blue pulse (again ).. Anyone have any suggestions as to how I have this one drilled, I would like the strongest possible reaction from this weaker ball, The other one I have is drilled rather weak and is great on the drier of the dry. I want one I can throw a lil bit faster and still get some reaction. I currently throw about 17 MPH avg (although I do slow it down for the current pulse to about 15.5) and have med revs. I throw down and in a lot with the current ball and it works well, I just want to open up with the speed a little bit to match how I throw my triple X (easier for us drinkers who bowl that way )...
Thanks
Jason

I have a blue pulse pearl that is more aggresive than I believe it is supposed to be and works great to swing with some hand as long as oil is medium...ball always finishes even when others seem not to...however it has a very unique drill that was on it when I bought it used and you may not want to punch it this way, but I don't think you would regret it...the pin is 3" and is to the right of the ring finger about 1".  The cg is directly on the pap and then a weight hole drilled directly through the cg to take out the overage of side weight..you will not find this on any ball co. drill sheet but really brings this ball to life.....Too heavy of oil or no dry anywhere to play off of and this ball will not react due to the nonaggressive shell, but give this some dry outsides or decent backends and this ball makes a nice smooth arc  with good continuation...does not skid/flip..and revs up nice off the hand...Good luck, Alzgarvin

Thanks Alzgarvin, I will keep that in mind. I was wondering with me wanting to throw her a lil faster, would a more skid/flip layout be better than an arc layout? I think no matter how I drill this ball I will be happy with it, I have loved these balls for years. The only reason to pick up the XXX is heavy oil, which I don't see too often.

Thanks,
Jason
