Title: full throttle vs throttle R
Post by: Dabalos on November 10, 2004, 04:30:22 AM
Would the throttle R on a dryer condition have the same reaction as the full throttle would have on an oiler condition.  Basically what im asking is if I have a full throttle, would the throttle R be a good ball to go to one the full throttle starts to burn up.

I don't know personally, because I don't have either ball, but I have several friends who have a Throttle R and it hooks a ton...Not sure how they compare, but the R still gives you quite a bit of hook. You would probably receive the same reaction as if you just moved inside.

Panic is fairly snappy but on dryer.

Won't handle medium like the Throttle/r I hear.

Smooth but still strong backend move I hear unless oily backs.

Lots of kudos for panic around here if overreactive short shot!

The throttle up would fit a little better. The R goes quite long and is quite snappy. I like both and we have drilled tons of each but for a direct step down the Throttle Up might be a little easier to control.

hey hi-trak, what kind of layout have you put on the throttle/r for quite long and quite snappy?  I ordered one for exactly that purpose and am still trying to figure out a layout.

On edit: Ball came in today, 3.5 TW, 5" pin

You have 2 SSpearls and a sheer where are you trying to fit this one in comparison?  This ball just by nature is long and snappy. Message me so not to Hi-Jack the thread.

Yeah, I agree!  Throttle R covers similar conditions as the Silver Streak pearl.

But I must say it looks different in doing it to my eye.  Less anguler more of a very hard but rounder shaped hard flip/arc.  I actually believe unless you need extremely sharp it is a more controllable shape and can really deliver the bacon to the pocket like a Silver streak pearl.

I believe it does close to the hole a lot harder than the Sheer Havoc which to my eyes is a beautiful ball on the rack but somewhat of a dud around hear(not enough backend usually).  But of course except for the the EMB XF I haven't hardly ever seen a pearl particle match up around here!

Sorry to hi-jack again, but Lucky, around here the Sheer is killing, and we don't see too much backend either.  I think the Sheer and the XF are very similar animals, particle pearls that are more particle than pearl.  I say that meaning that they are not very "flippy" on the backend.  I have both the XF and the Sheer and they are both VERY tame on the backend, both VERY great balls (though I do have a funky drilling on my XF right now)

I saw one of our best bowlers try to make a sheer fit one night all night and it was just a force.  Couldn't really deliver the backend and when it got there it just was punchless.

Again in general particle pearls do not work around here most of the time.
Then there is one center where the Eraser Particle pearl kills.  (Lots more volume of oil).

Another dud around here is the Depth Charge!
