Arsenal - filling a gap.
« on: June 30, 2005, 10:07:25 AM »
Okay, I posted this a while back in the Misc forum, but didn't get any responses.

I have the following balls waiting to be plugged and re-drilled:

Animal,
Full Throttle,
Throttle R,
Reaction Arc,
Messenger Ti.

My current arsenal:

Ebonite Optyx Snuffy (14lb, box finish)
Faball Red Hammer (14.5lb blem, box finish)
Track Thrash (14lb, box finish)
AMF300 Velocity (14lb, 400-600 grit)
Brunswick Nemesis (14lb, box finish)

If I had to pick just one of the balls to plug and re-drill, which would best fill any gaps?  I currently really only use the Velocity and Nemesis, and just make adjustments based on the conditions, but it's the summer and I figured its a good time to try out some new things and get some different looks.  Most of my stuff is smooth and arcy - might want to try something a little more snappy.

But he doesn't have a BYB waiting to be plugged and redrilled.  If the Red Hammer is the Pearl Urethane one, then you may want something to fit between the Thrash and the Snuffy.  Maybe the Messenger or the Reaction Arc.  I think the Animal will be similar to the Velocity, especially if the latter is at a relatively low grit.

The Full Throttle will probably be too strong to fit down there.  It might fit well above the Thrash.  With some polish, it should have quite a lot of backend motion, definitely different from the Nemesis or Velocity.

Took the balls in to my driller, and he decided the Animal would be the best ball to add.  Ball should be ready on Tuesday, but I'll be in a training class all week, so I don't know if I'll get a chance to throw it this week or not.
