This is the answer I got when I sent a message about these;



" Yes, there were Bonanza Yellow Dot Bleeders. They are the original dark ones that ooze. The bags had stuck to them and there is a light, fuzzy film on them. They are not the funky Columbia remake, nor the Legend. The serial number that include the last portion of the alphabet, starting with the letter O were Bleeders. My husband has been in the shop business for over 25 years and had stashed these away a long time ago. We also have some original Columbia Yellow dot bleeders that we will be aucting off...they happen to start with 5P "

Actually, if I recall correctly, the very first bleeders were sold as Bonanza because they were considered blems.  In any event, I miss my 9R and 1Y....

I have few of them undrilled still bleeding in their bag and they are Bonanza 5y and 5p.  Bleeders were made as Yellow Dots as well as Bonanza.  I'll post some photos later this week

I wish I could remember my Yellow Dot's number. The only thing I can recall about it was I could turn that ball on wood lanes at Bandera Bowl in San Antonio.

The bleeder YD's started coming out in 1975.  I had a 5P and it was a true bleeder.  Also soft.  The first time it was checked for hardness it registered a 58.  We didn't really know about these until they started to bleed and because suddenly I had much more hook, or the ability to create more area and 10 pins were less of a problem for me after that too.  Great ball, my average went up 10 pins because of that ball.  There were a few good years for the bleeders in the mid 70's.
