What the rankings state, you're welcome.

REgards,

PS expanded description, hook on oil = hook on oil, hook on dry = hook on dry.

I meant in terms of what do the numbers represent...

For example the Detour lists:

Overall Hook:   48
Hook Oil:   21
Hook Dry:   27

What do those numbers represent, how many boards the ball is capable of hooking?

Maybe.

However I use them in a different way.

For example a Reaction Rev.  This is a Solid Particle ball rated 25 wet 25 dry for a total of 50.

Put up next to a detour I expect the unpolished detour to go straighter in oil and then hook a touch more on dry.

In my mind it is where is the hook.

The highest toatl hook I think they list is like 57 combined.

Hardly...  If those were real boards being covered just about everything they have would hook off the lane.  For an explanation from Columbia look here - http://www.columbia300.com/innovation/techdocs.cfm?id=15

I also dug this up - http://www.columbia300.com/interact/atx.cfm?id=126&page=3

They used to rate balls by number of boards covered, but have changed their rating to something slightly more realistic.

It's kind of hard to read the lanes if you don't know their language...

Just an arbitrary number system Columbia uses to compare Columbia balls to each other.  Very useful if you don't try to read too much into it.

Thanks J Mac, just trying to get an idea on what some of the balls can do out there. Looking at a couple of balls so I'm just trying to figure out what sort of conditions they would work best on.
