Was the Action Attack Any Good?
« on: January 24, 2008, 10:14:44 AM »
I have a 15lb Action Attack that I'm thinking about drilling as my bench mark ball. I currently use a Thunderstruck solid for that but I've read that the AA is more versatile. Any help or comments would be appreciated.

I've had mine for about two years (since it came out).  I was just thinking of buying another while they are still available.  It is my benchmark ball and use it for anything but the heaviest oil or dryest.  smooth, consistent reaction and hasn't worn out yet.  I keep it clean and cook the oil out of it periodically.  It's my old reliable for sure.

The AA is a great ball. It is very versatile. I currently have mine at 2000 abralon and it is a beast. The m80 coverstock is one of my all time favorites.

i personally didnt like the action attack.  i throw around 17-18mph.  it didnt hook for me at all.  i had an action packed and it hooked more than the attack.  I sold it to this guy at my alley.  it hooked for him...but he threw 14mph...lol

Thanks everyone. I really appreciate the feedback. I'm still struggling with the decisions to drill it vs drilling a weaker ball like a T-Road Pearl.

Oh well. Thanks again.

The Action is my benchmark ball. I used to hate it thought it was weird. After a bunch of games is it is very smooth and predictable, on light to med. heavy. Can play down and in with oil, or 4th or 5th arrow when it is called for. the m80 coverstock is great. I just scuff it up a little every once in a while and it's good to go.

Yellow Dot, Are you referring to the original Action or the Action Attack?

Actually, the coverstock was a different than the M80, it was actually M80^2 - Friction Plus.  But nevertheless both the M80 and M80^2 coverstocks have shown to be very durable, as I know many bowlers that have been using the same balls (either the bully line  or action line) for over two years now.
