Columbia 300 F10X ProActive Wrist Device
« on: May 27, 2005, 10:15:28 AM »
Does anybody use this?  I've been having some wrist pain, and I'm thinking about getting one because I don't want to use a big, bulky wrist/forearm glove.  But, I'd like to know that it works well.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

RDR, I've been using this for the last three years with great relief....It wasn't immediate as my sore tendons and muscles still had to heal from previous strain, but once pain subsided I have been pain free ever since....I hate other support products due to blood flow restriction, swelling of fingers and thumb, and sweat....this device does not cause any of these. Other devices also support so much that your wrist actually becomes weaker from all that support , whereas this does not support as much as stimulate and your wrist maintains strength, Alzgarvin

Don't be a macho dumpkopf.
If you have pain, the solution is in seeing a doctor. End of story. No alternative. Find the cause; then you can attack with a reasonable chance of success.  "Trying things" is a sure cause for more problems.

I tried it a few times.  Like LuckyLefty, I can't say it made a noticeable difference.

As posted in another thread....absolutely worthless from my experience. Ther eis not enough of an object there to do anything.

The material is so osft and squisy that it cannot provide any support unless it is ridiculously tight and that's impossible with the stretchiness and limited adjustment built into the devide.

I have used one for few years now.  It doesnt provide support, the small bump on the inside is to take some pressure off of the tendons.  Im not in the medical field, I can't explain why it works, but for me it does.

When these were introduced I don't remember anything ever mentioned about support. The little ball stimulates nerves in wrist, which send signals to the brain. I think it was supposed to increase blood flow or impulses to the muscles, something like that. This would allow the wrist to have greated strength and endurance. What was done, and I had it demonstrated, was to hold your thumb and middle finger together and the person demonstrating would pull them apart. After massaging the area of the wrist the little ball massages, you would repeat the pull apart test and the other person could not pull the fingers apart. I saw it done on multiple demonstrations with the same results. I have worn one of these in tournaments for years and though don't all the time now, believe when having to roll a lot of games I could and can see a difference in endurance. Just for reference the little ball must be located to drop into the hole in the back of the wrist, between the tendons of the first two fingers, to work properly.

My wrist was a little tingly!  Didn't get to second game!

Felt like a highly energetic wrist!
