Is there anything in the Columbia line or Ebonite family that would be a good replacement for the Columbia Messenger Ti Pearl (black and gold)?

I believe that is a good answer and maybe the best answer!

However they ARE different in a major way.

The old Messenger TI pearl had a titanium nugget in it that lowered the RG to about 2.527 the Messengers and the new freeze do not have this nugget and move later on the lane due to this lower rg.

One can drill to compensate for this difference.

A comparison ball and phenomenon was the old Hawk and TiHawk!  The Ti Hawk also had a heavy titanium nugget in The core which lowered the RG of the ball.  Thus the  Hawk was a great ball but often handled a little less volume or a shorter shot than the Ti Hawk could handle.

I am also aware that the new Freeze has a great coverstock and has had wonderful results.
