Jinx and HiJinx
« on: December 11, 2006, 02:58:42 PM »
Some top pro friends of mine and I think these two balls...are just the cats meow!!

The jinx so clean...and then so much drive at the back.  The HiJinx the cover so strong and the core with so much controllable strong flip!

I just threw my new Jinx and couldn't believe how strong thru the pocket once I got the speed going after a little break from bowling.

Both balls with not a ton of core but outstanding coverstocks.

REgards,

Luckylefty
PS my Jinx drill...pin over bridge and cg under ring(3 inch pin out).
My friend a nice championship in Vegas with the HiJinx.

I really wish Columbia would re-vamp their website. It would be great if they would categorize their balls in similar fashion as it appears of the AMF 300 site. On the AMF site they breakdown their balls in three groups entry performance, mid-range performance and high.

I wish Columbia will follow suit quickly, because I read the Columbia Corner article that you provided LL a couple of days ago and I was not aware that Jinx and Hyjinx are considered entry level performance balls. The same also goes for the Dr. Jekyll, which on paper looks to be a ball entry-level ball to learn to hook than the Scout/R...IMO.

Speaking of Dr. Jekyll, you ever seen the old SNL skit with Dan Ackroyd...Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Rogers? That one was a hoot!

quote:
The Jinx has the Big Flip Reactive cover and the HyJinx has the Big Flip Strong cover. These are two decidedly different coverstock materials. The Jinx has more length down the lane with a smooth transition at the breakpoint and a strong finish at the backend. The Jinx is a light to light-medium oil ball. The HyJinx, which hooks about 3 to 5 boards more than the Jinx, reads the mid-lane sooner and is stronger at the backend. The HyJInx is designed for light-medium to medium oil conditions. Both balls are very controllable as the oil transitions over the course of a night.

We have already had tremendous feedback on the Jinx and HyJinx, both in performance and color. One of my staff players made the comment that if he didn't know the price of these balls he would have thought they were high performance, just by their performance and hitting power.

The Wrath has the STS cover and the Wrath XP has the STS XP cover. Again, we have two different coverstock reactions. The Wrath cover is a more aggressive formula than either the Jinx or HyJinx, with its primary use to be on medium oil conditions. The Wrath XP has a very aggressive cover that is best suited for light-heavy to heavy oiled lanes. The core in the Wrath series is the popular core we used in the Ti Boss II ball. This core is a great match up for the new coverstocks.

Like the Jinx and HyJinx, the Wrath and Wrath XP read the midlane smoothly and transition to the pins in a strong motion. Both balls have fantastic hitting power as well as beautiful colors, but the best thing about the Wrath series is the price. High performance cover combined with a high performance core for a mid price cost.

Haven't you noticed that anytime a ball is made for "light to medium" conditions that they tend to be labeled as "entry level"?

Look at the AMF Orbit Xtreme - basically the same core as the Desert Heat and Super-Flex coverstock.  Still, it's for "light" conditions, so it must be entry level!

Funny, we all complain about the centers not putting out enough oil, but we all want to buy the newest "high performance" ball.....all of which are "medium to heavy" oilers.

one of my favorite posts above by "non spoofer" Bill2gun.

Have you seen his profile.
this is certainly great...

Here is one of my favorite reviews from some of our other non spoofers.
"I love this ball and after reading the other great reviews of this ball I have found it to be the best 10 pin spare ball ever!".  Are there any storms that hook more than this ball?".

If you can't figure our what is going on with this ridiculous and "nonspoof" posts on this site...you are NOT paying attention.

If you don't think the poster knows anything about bowling...I've got a bridge to sell you.

Why would someone do this?...you will find these posts following in MANY of my posts and all over the site!  THINK ABOUT IT! as Righty says!
qstick...good comments.
