Both the original and the remakes had a matte finish, around 500 grit out of the box I would say.

The remake was supposed to be the same but I felt that the remake hooked quite a bit more than the original I had. Both balls are even rolling and do not have a lot of flare potential.

I don’t really think the type of pins had any effect. The first was clear with a decal stuck to the ball telling you not to drill any closer than the decal, it simply kept you from drilling inside 1 inch of the pin which is the recommendation for all the balls today.

Lol, don't mock me!!!  I was actually making a point though, he knows absolutely everything about the original and the remake and can break down the differences pretty easily.  He did say that the remake hooked too much, and I think Pinbuster pretty much nailed it.  I'm gonna change my signature now . .
