Looking for a strong pearl
« on: December 27, 2011, 04:09:40 AM »
I'm looking to get a strong pearl and I'm trying to decide what to get between the nano pearl, infinite theory, and the encounter. Whats the difference between these three balls?

Don't know much about the Nano or Infinite Theory but I own an Encounter and would have a hard time categorizing it as a strong pearl. For me it's a very good ball for medium to medium heavy shots. I know two guys who own the Taboo Dark electric blue/ Silver pearl and it's a beast on heavier, longer shots. You might want to look at it.

Remove Infinite Theory (hybrid)
Insert Critical Theory (Pearl)

^ What he said ^. The Critical Theory is as strong a pearl as you will find.

Thanks for the replies... However, I asked about the nano pearl, infinite, and encounter because I'm looking more for a strong pearl that comes polished from the factory. Not wanting it for heavier oil, but to have when a ball like the critical is too much. How does the nano pearl, infinite, and encounter compare?

My point is that the Infinite is not a pearl.  It's a hybrid.

Yes I'm very aware of the fact that the infinite is a hybrid. Its actually two parts pearl and one part solid, which gives you the length of a pearl with more of a controlled backend due to the one part solid. I just wanted to know the difference between the reaction of those 3 balls.

I have an Encounter. I think it is an excellent ball. It is versatile and is not too jump off the dry.

The Marvel Pearl fits in there too. Very strong. When the Nano Pearl was pinging 10 pins, the Marvel Pearl carried the world for him.

The new Track 811A SE also seems to fit somewhere in this category. Some videos show promise, still not sure exactly how strong it is. Good review in new issue of BTM. Extremely flippy, though.

The new Radical Slant Hybrid seems to be very similar to the Infinite Theory (polished solid/pearl combo with asymmetric core) , so throw that into the mix as well.

my infinite is an amazing ball, very effortless thru heads (almost freaky easy) then a smooth but hard hitting backend, never jumpy.  love the infinite, fanatastic on lanes starting to wear and move too much for stronger stuff

What about the Seismic Raging Bull Charged, pretty strong pearl but is not too jump off the spot.

So I drilled up the encounter and it gave me exactly what I was looking for. Now I have another question... With the same layout how will the eruption compare to the encounter? I'm hoping it will be a good step down from the encounter.

I agree! 200%....I have hit my breaking point...I never, ever want to see a stronger pearl than this...screw that....I still haven't been able to find a condition that has enough oil that needs a pearl!...its very hard to read..

Even tho the infinite is a hybrid, it does act like pearl...more so than the critical...the critical is a flippier solid on steroids....aka pearl without polish...

My strong pearl vote will go the infinite hands down its the most versatile pearl/hybrid I've owned since the Hyroad...
