Looking to Move Forward from Outburst
« on: June 12, 2013, 10:49:49 PM »
I presently am using the OutBurst and I am looking to add another ball with the Resurgence core.  However with the Mass Eruption and the Disruption I am left wondering what will be the differences between these two balls and how they compare to the older OutBurst.  Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

The Outburst is the soonest of the pack. At the same surface the mass would be evry close, but still at little longer and stronger. The Disruption is the longest and most flippy of the 3. The Resurgence core is nice, but the capsul core from omen/oath/vow is just as great. The closest ball would in my mind be the Oath with a a tad weaker layout.

+1 for the Oath, what a great piece
I do have both Outburst and Oath, although the Outburst is pin down and the Oath pin up

I have The Outburst and went to the Omen. I would use the Omen and when the lanes break down go the Outburst. Then came along a ball from the past a Resurgence Revival that was a remake of the Resurgence. That is my main ball now. I have taken the Omen down to 500 and then polished to allow the pearl to do it's job. The Omen is now used  when the lanes break down and i need the ball to go a little further down the lane. The season ended and had managed the get my average back into the mid 190's. I always take my winnings and put back into bowling and I treated myself  to Omen's half brother and bought the Vow and used the vow over the summer. The house I bowl at puts down a THS in the mornings and will do a fill shot for the evening without cleaning the back ends. My bag now has The Resurgence as my first ball out of the bag with the Vow or the Omen next,  was the Resurgence jumping at the end or was I just leaving the 10 pin. I use the Vow when leaving the Ten pin or on the fresh THS with the Omen used when lanes break down. I have polished the Outburst that is used on the end lanes they both are by doors and they dry out fast. I would recommend any ball that uses the Resurgence or the capsule cores. I am a down and in bowler that now has learned to arc the ball maybe I have more hand then I realize. I had been a Morich fan until  I moved out of the East and spent the next 3 years trying to replace the Total Shock & Awe. I have found that home with Columbia in my bag. My next ball will be a Columbia as long as they use the tried and true cores. My proshop tells me that the Smackdown should be my next ball but the season is just now starting so ask me in 3 months how I feel about the Resurgence and it's family of Balls.

Thanks for the information.  Always glad when someone reads and answers these questions especially when it is hard to know about all these good balls Columbia has come out with recently.

My choices have changed a little since the last few weeks the Outburst has been giving me a backend problem with over/under at the breakpoint  depending on the angle I generally use to get there.  I was thinking the Disruption maybe too much snap if this lane condition continues into the fall season.

I now am looking at going possibly with the 505c2 from Track (or a Columbia medium/light oil ball?) when the Outburst snaps too much.  I would need something for control at that time.  Also when the Outburst is not enough my choices are the Mass Eruption or Smackdown at the present time. Still not sure which is the best option.

I will wait the week or 2 just to see if they stay with medium to lighter oil or go back to the way it was.  I will look up information on the Vow and see if it fits my needs.

Slice20 , Good to see others throwing C300. I have been a C300 guy since the rock star , and rock on days. Throw nothing but C300. I work at a center , and I drill my own stuff. Due to this , I currently have 22 C300 balls. I'm with you on the proven cores. However , The SD Medium RG Core used in the smackdown is a great core. I also love the capsule , and resurgence cores. The disruption , omen , and smackdown have been my go to balls this fall season. Going to be interesting seeing a modified resurgence core in the unreleased Pro Eruption. I look for it to be amazing. Alot of people hate that they use the same cores over and over. I personally love their cores. C300 has been producing great equipment. Bugsy Kelly has done a great job. He is also a great man. Keep rolling C300 , and high scores.
