Title: Messenger Ti Pearl
Post by: dev on July 03, 2004, 04:20:18 PM
Okay.. just hope to get some advice for all of you.. Thinking of getting the ball from my friend, but I'm not quite sure whether is it whether suitable for me.

I'm a lefty, rather a slow ball speed, taking abt 2 to 3 sec to reach the pin. My revs are rather high..so therefore my ball breaks rather early.

Currently having a Cuda 2000 in my bag, sanding it 20-15-10 and I always got brooklyn.

Any comments whether should I take this ball? Thanks!

First, if your ball reaches the pins in 2-3 seconds, I wouldnt call your ball speed slow.  You might want to track that again.  Second, I would think the Ti-Messenger wouldnt be VASTLY different from your cuda 2000 unless they are drilled compeletely different.  I dont think theres a significant enough difference in ball reaction if you truly throw the ball slow and have a high rev rate, its going to turn on the backend just like your cuda is.  You're best bet is to learn to get your swing faster, take some hand out of the ball, or move further right and find more oil.  Hope this helps.

I agree with wells, picking up the ball speed made a big differece to me cause I had the same problem, slow with revs. I eventually dropped to 14# and can now throw stronger equipment when I need to.

Now i'm increasing frm 13# to 14# .. so I guess it's not advisable for me to change?

I would make that change. I think there is a sizeable difference in hitting power from 14 lbs compared to 13 lbs.  Alot of the high tech equipment actually have weight-block changes below 14 pounds, so you're not getting the full deal.  I would just work on somethings to give your swing a little more momentum to help increase your speed, or learn some release changes that help you take some revolutions off the ball.

Thanks for your advice. Guess i will get the new ball and change the drilling layout.
