While it is not the most aggressive of balls, it will certianly handle medium + to medium-heavy oil.
While you can certainly put a Rico or a pin on axis drilling on any ball, I'd suggest you either have a good deal of oil or you polish it first before putting such early rolling drillings of this type of ball.
If you have a high ratio of ball speed to rev rate, you can also more easily use such a drilling on this type of ball.

Get a Scout or something similar because even the Freeze has too strong of a reactive cover to use on fried conditions.

Smooth rolling ball for two years already. Great ball.
I can use this ball on most conditions, except dry.
Messenger isn''t particle. It is solid reactive.
It would be great to get NIB Messenger...

I used to play on medium-heavy oil (3 3/4 x 3 3/4). But since I bought myself a RotoGrip Cell the Traction lays at home in a corner. I'm speed dominant and don't have a lot of revs. My axis tilt is between about 25 degrees.

If that's the case, I'd first suggest doing an oil extraction.
If you want to do one of those drills, your being speed dominant, just be ready for early roll, and if it's too early, either sand it very fine, like P2000 or P4000 grit or add some polish to it to get the roll and breakpoint you want.

Messenger TI Traction: Enhanced Superflex
Charlest assessment of the Traction is probably correct as I believe this ball had a light particle load without stating it was particle.

or a rico layout, that is certainly not what your looking for with friction in
the front part of the lane. those layouts would be more suited for fresh conditions up front with clean backends.(i don't post to often but i'd thought
this would help)

Not as much as you'd think. I had used a Columbia Sport Ball for about a year and a half, maybe a year ago. (It was 16 lbs. and I gave those up last March or so.) I just kept it clean, it was lightly polished and I used it on medium oil, so it was subjected to oil. I think I may have used Cleab & Dull on it once (violating my own recommednations
) and it never seemed to lose performnace or if it did it was so gradual. I was kind of surprised, since I knew it had the "dreaded" TEC particles. But, no, it always seem to perform. I even changed the surface a few times.Based on that usage, I suspect the rap against balls with TEC particles was once again a case of laziness or ignorance on the part of most bowlers.
