Momentum, Rival or Arch Rival?
« on: June 03, 2008, 07:51:01 AM »
I just purchased a new Resurgence for heavy oil conditions.(Have not had a chance to try it yet)  I have a Messenger Ti Pearl (black and gold) for dry.   Now I need a ball in the middle for more medium conditions and I am looking at the Momentum, the Rival and the Arch Rival to fit this spot.  I read somewhere that one of these had some similarities to the old red Pulse which was a favorite of mine.  Any help in making a selection would be appreciated.

If it helps, I am a senior bowler with slower speed (15+/-mph) and low revs.  The Resurgence is to replace a ball that cracked and the new ball is to replace a Columbia Hyde that has seen better days.

Thanks for the help.

I believe the Arch Rival and Momentum are going to be similair in reaction but the Rival would be weaker than both of the aforementioned balls.

I can't wait to drill the Arch Rival.  The Rival i have right now is unbeleivable.

The Resurgence and Momentum is a great combo. The Rival would fill the spot on mediums and at a better price point. Can't go wrong either way!

I believe the Rival to be the best choice.  The Momentum is still for medium to heavy conditions whereas with your slower ball speed, the weakest of the 3 you mentioned is going to help you on medium conditions and yet still be quite a bit stronger than the Messenger Ti Pearl.

I too agree w/ this assessment. I have The Rival, and I've been using it on my PBA league. But I'm still looking into getting the Momentum Swing when it comes out this July.

The Momentum looks a little stronger than the Rival.

Instead of the Resurgence I have a Gamebreaker on top, and its a pretty good 1-2 Punch, with an old X-Factor Deuce below that.

What I can tell you is you can't go wrong with a Momentum. I absolutely love mine since the day I got it. Its just an incredible piece of equipment.

If your going by oob finish and a same drill, the Rival is stronger than the Momentum.  If you break the cover of the Mommentum, then yes it is stronger.
