Momentum vs Special Agent
« on: January 07, 2008, 11:45:44 PM »
I am currently a big fan of Columbia's new line of equipment. I have a Resurgence for heavy oil, sport/tournament shots, a Rival which I use most of the time, and a Wrath High Flush for when the lanes break down. I have the Resurgance and Rival drilled similar: pin down under my fingers, about 4" from PAP. I have the Rival polished to use on my house shot. Right now I find a large gap between the Resurgence and the Rival and am filling that gap with a Storm Special Agent. I was wondering if the Momentum would be a better fit between these two? I need something for when the heavy oil lanes begin to dry up just a little (the Resurgence seems to be burn up just a tad and begin leaving solid 10 pins for me) but are still too slick for the Rival. I have heard good and bad about the Momentum and wanted to get some others advice on my thinking here. Thanks for your help.

"Hell of a situation we got here. Two on, two out, your team down a run and you've got the chance to be the hero on national television... if you don't blow it. Saw your wife last night. Great little dancer. That guy she was with? I'm sure he's a close personal friend, but tell me, what was he doing with her panties on his head?
Uh-oh, Rexie, I don't think this one's got the distance."

Out of the box, the momentum with the same drill will be much weaker than an out of the box Special Agent.  I just drilled my first momentum last night and with a slightly weaker drill than my rival, its a good 6-8 boards weaker up front with more arc on the back.  If it was me, another rival with a stronger drill/surface prep would be perfect.  If you do get a momentum and want to use it between the rival/resurgence, you will have to break the cover down. Hope this helps
