Primal Rage first thoughts

Well I know this ball is ancient but I am bored at work and though I would punch up some thoughts about the PR.

SPECS: Pin under ring Finger MB out roughly three inches 2000 abralon surface, may polish it later to see if it acts better.

Lake Shore Lanes Shawano WI: Pretty much the easiest house shot of all time. But the locals think it is something tough I think they are wussies. Anyway I was their with some friends and I decided to give my PR a go started out left put the ball over 15 and out to 8 for a flush shot amazing carry ball rolled alot earlier than what I was expecting. Ball got better as I got deeper on the lane and into more oil still rolling and early and a little under powered at the pins but still carrying like a dream. 267 the first game, started the 2nd game with a good run but the lane dried out to much and I put it away in favor of my Havoc.

Nice ball the first time out with a drill pattern that I have a hard time getting to work right. I can't believe the ball is setting early for me almost to the point where I need to polish it a little, as mentioned earlier great carry rolls through the rack and never slows down. I will post a real review in the next few weeks.

on edit!!- In case anyone cares I bowled at Super Bowl on Monday night and used my Primal Rage with a coat of Storms First Step Polish balls length and turn at the break point were much improved, break was still very controlled and easy to read to my surprise. I had games of 247 and 237 after the second game I put it away in favor of my A-FLIP, I didn't feel like working hard and getting way left with the PR. But overall I had a great look while it was out and was one the pair for the night this one has a spot in the bag for awhile!

"ancient" maybe, but solid Super-Flex is far from being a "98 lb weakling".
This ball was a powerhouse when released: very low RG and very high flare, like 7" or so.

'MB out 3"' ???
Does that mean 3" towards the PAP side of the thumb????

2000 Abralon = 1000 grit old/US grit level - OK.

Nice bowling!
Stock cover surface was, I believe, 600 grit matte/dull. 1000 grit is not that much smoother. Try 1200 or 1500 grit (US/CAMI grade) for even more energhy retention and slightly more length.

FYI This ball preceded the Tour Boss series. I remember Liz Johnson and Gary Dickinson (2 nig time strokers) just making finals after finals for many months using the Primal Rage. Then when the Tour Boss came out, as contract players, they, of course, had to use the new ball. With less flare and higher RG, they did significantly less well.

This was as Charlest said a high flare potential ball and a strong coverstock.

It will hook all the way down the lane if enough oil....or will burn early.

charlest it is 3 inches from the thumb on the PAP side. I don't have anything drilled with the thumb on the other side I throw to hard for that.

What a 1-2-3 punch they were.

But as I remember, the Primal Rage really never handle "real heavy oil" that well.  But it was a monster polished!!!

I just put a coat of polish on mine!! If it handles the Meduim well that is all I need it to do

Hence my small review above.
Actaully I am the third person to have this given PR in my possesion, and it only had about ten games when  got it three weeks ago. So far I like it using the polish to see if it will face up to the pins better.

Mine had 10 games on it the first weekend out. It seems like a zillion years ago. I started out using it sanded, I believe in those days it was at 600 grit.
My Outrage and Rage were polished.  But I never had much luck with the primal dull.  Then I polished it and it actually fit well between the Outrage and the Rage.  Go figure.
