Need a little help please.
« on: October 15, 2006, 08:31:18 AM »

I went into my local proshop to get a new Brunswick Absolute Inferno and the proshop guy suggested that I consider the Action Max instead. I have seen the Absolute in my leagues but not the Action Max.

Has anyone used both of these balls?  Are they fairly similar?

Any help would be appreciated.

The Action MaX is overall stronger than the Absolute Inferno. The Max will have a stronger backend, and be able to be played on overalll more oil than the Absolute INferno..

Hope this helps

There pretty different balls, So it depends what your looking for. The Absolute is a lengthy pearl for medium conditions and the Max is a strong solid reactive that can handle medium/heavy conditions.

One question that I have is why is he suggesting a different ball that what you went in to buy? Did you ask him about the other ball? Did he give you any reason why? Or the differences between the balls and what it would do for your game?

I know the Inferno is a STRONG ball. Like you I have not seen the MAX in competition yet, so I do not know about that one. But I would say that if you went in to purchase a specific ball and you know what it is going to do, the stick with it. I have gone into a pro-shop to ask their opinion on what ball I should buy, but never went in to buy a ball and was told that I should buy this one.
