I was very excited to see the Beast until I looked closer and saw that it wasn't going to be a two piece weight block and cover ball like the original. With the filler core I don't have the desire to purchase this.

I retract my enthusiasm on this "Messenger" since the Freeze line from few years back used a MODIFIED MESSENGER CORE so there's zero reason to bring out one with a totally new core >:(

I'm not a fan. I think Columbia could have done well going with a retro series in the mid level category along the lines of Brunswick with the Quantums

Nice to see these new Columbia 300 releases with the retro names. I had a lot of luck with the original Messenger Series. Not so however, with the entire Boss line.

I am glad that they have redesigned these balls to better compete on today's conditions. In my view it is a necessity. I still have several of the originals, and at least in my hands, they present no challenge to the balls being produced today.

Still, I love the nostalgia of using the original names for these new releases.

I'm reading this to say "they should have gone with the Momentums".

I'm on board with this :D

:D

They mean just the name lol.

Old school Columbia if anything is 900 global product. All you're buying is an ebonite ball with a name.
In the bag [Infinite Physix, Volatility Torque, Night Road, Phaze III, Burner Solid, Hustle AU]
*Now Testing* IQ Ruby, Renevant, another IQ Tour solid
Coming soon...???

The new C300 Beast Balls will be replacing the Nitrous line. The new Beast core has a slightly lower RG and higher Differential than the Nitrous core as well as an upgraded cover in the Bend-It cover which was featured on past balls like the Vow, Omen, Delirium, Eruption Pro Blue, etc. Columbia 300 has moved its HYPERSHOCK technology all the way down to the LMP price point with these new releases. Previously this was only featured in the top 2 price points.

The Messenger balls will be replacing Scouts. Although the Scout had just a pancake as a core, a pancake still has RG and Differential numbers. The Messenger has an actual weight block in the ball, but the target here was to keep the core numbers and performance similar to that of a Scout. This now also features HYPERSHOCK

Turbo/R - No new technology here. Just some sexy new colors and a great new logo! Went back to the look of the old Turbo fan logo from back in the day.

I still have a lime green Messenger; a purple Beast and an original Scout!

My original Messenger was 2.567 RG/.037 dif. The cover was Super Flex. Will be nice to drill one of each and do a comparison!

I'm thinking that new Beast will have considerable more pop down lane than the old one.

Hey DP3!! None of the Rhinos thrown around here go straight! I know a few people who can hook the lane with a large amount of flare and score with them things! My teammate, a female, has a Twist but cannot control the hook on it as well, but I think she's the exception.

Hey JJ! I love hearing that area is still a "dry-ths". There's just so much friction in this area. The house shots that I was bowling on in Vegas, these low end balls wouldn't wrinkle. There's so much oil in the fronts out there. Code Black and Storm Fight (with polish) were the weakest balls in my bag at one point just for league. I threw the Scandals, Locks, Tyrant and Crux Series primarily there. OOB surfaces too.

These will be a welcome upgrade in the low end line. Especially for those of us who could use them in place of the Vibes and Destiny's which were a little on the stronger side of "Dry" Lane Equipment.

The Beasts use the Bend-It cover, not weak by any means. They should end up fairly close to the Vibe line maybe 1-2 boards less

Sometimes you get a strong cover on a lightbulb core and they go sideways down lane. Something tells me that the Beasts are gonna be punchy.
