OK so I just got a new ball
« on: August 22, 2006, 01:22:19 PM »
Ever since it came out I have been wanting to try an EPX-T1,  but with the price and all the bad reviews about it cracking I avoided it.  Well tonight I was able to pick one up for right around 100 bucks,  don't know if it's one of the dreaded first batch, and if it is and it cracks while drilling or afterward I'll just send it back to columbia and get something else .  but now that I have the ball, I'm trying to figure out how to drill it,  I'd like it to handle oil pretty well.  Specs on the ball are as follows,  15lb 3 oz.  2 1/4 oz. top weight, and 2 inch pin.  I was thinking about drilling it pin below ring with CG stacked below no weight hole.

I've heard some people having some great success with this ball after the first batch, so thought I'd give it a try.  if anyone has any suggestions on what to expect or another way to drill it let me know,  don't know exactly when I'll drill this puppy up.  so lemme know what you all think.  Thanks.

drill it by the drill sheet: mostly leveraged drillings and pin 4 inches to pap with the pin down.

only problem I'm having with some of the drillings is that it would put the pin like 1/2 inch away from the fingers, and with how prone this ball has been to cracking I was wondering how columbia has been with replacing balls drilled with pin that close to fingers, I know that technically the pin has to be 1 inch away from any hole in order for it to not void the waranty.  Any one know?

so does anybody know about Columbia's policy on replacing bowling balls that have the pin too close to the fingers?  I would imagine they would be fine with it since they have had such a problem with the EPXs.  what can I say, I want to drill it with pin about 1/2 inch below and cg either in or out. and I want to make sure that if it does happen to be a part of one of the bad batches that they will still replace it.  Drilling it up on Saturday, so hopefully it will be fine.  Thanks to anyone who responds

Seeing that it is now discontinued I'd find it unlikely that they'd replace it with another EPX...
