Title: One step below the Messenger Ti Pearl
Post by: Ric Clint on November 11, 2004, 05:41:51 PM
Besides the WILD... what would be the very next step below the B/S/P (or Black/Gold)?

The Jekyll? What all do they have for this slot?

Stronger than Wild and as cheap as the Jekyl is the Throttle/r.  On closeout by some guys here.

Some love some hate.  Sort of skid slurve type of ball.  Not really a flip!
Mixed reviews on Jekyl also.

On reviews here someone compared Throttle/r to Messenger B/p but I don't remember comment.

I don't see much difference in Jekyll specs and Messenger Ti.

I see Panic having a more even and earlier reaction than Wild.
Lower rg but also slightly lower diff.

Panic = pearl
16 lb. 2.534 0.025
15 lb. 2.549 0.025

Wild = polished solid
RG: 2.631
Differential: 0.030

So something like thisin order of strength.
Wild, Panic, Jekyll
Wild, Panic, Throttle/R

For me the Jekyll was an extremely high flaring, early-revving piece for its price point.  If you want a sure thing, I'd stay away from the Jekyll and go with the Panic if you're doing columbia equipment.
