What is the light oil ball of choice? Need suggestions
« on: May 12, 2004, 01:07:57 PM »
Sup guys. So I'm currently planning to have a 3 ball arsenal. So far it consists of the Full Throttle, and a Detour, which should arrive shortly. My question is, what is a good light oil ball that will react and carry like these two balls but in a light oil condition? Basically I need a light oil ball that goes pretty long and has a nice snap on the backend. How is the Messenger Ti Pearl? Maybe the Wild?

Either of those two are good depending on your game and how dry you mean.  Also consider the Spirit II.  Good bang for the buck.

Just threw the Spirit II yesterday drilled 4 1/4 X 3.5.

I think it is a nice lighter oil ball.  Below my Silver Streak solid, Below my Ego, and above my Sonic X.  Sort of that lighter medium.  It almost worked but there was a lot of carrydown yesterday!  It is not good for that.  A step up is the Ti Messenger pearl!

My teamate has been throwing the Super Trooper and goes long and has a big snap on the end on fried lanes. It also has good pin action. I have had great luck with my Barbed Wire, goes long and it snaps and crushes the pins. Very generous to if you tug or let it out.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Right now I'm down to the Ti Messenger Pearl or the Super Trooper, whichever I can get cheaper. I'll let u guys know when I find my ball.

I'm amazed at the replies here that say the Super Trooper snaps.

This ball has no flip blocks!

It should hook but not snap except on flying backends.

Oh, as far as Ti Messenger Pearl vs Ego, I think there is no comparison, you want snap and energy retention EGO is all that and then some!

A great high octane ball with a great coverstock(UFD, what is this explosive stuff), and a great core(reaction rev).

Hm, LuckyLefty so you would recommend the Ego? I know that you're very Pro-Ego haha. I've read your posts. I do want a ball that snaps at the end, that fits my style best. I don't get very excited about the controllable hook type stuff haha. Anyway, how does the Ego do on extreme dry? I know it's probably very good on Medium/Medium Dry, but how about more than that?
