Outburst Feedback
« on: January 16, 2011, 11:53:28 PM »
I currently have a Burst. I am a tweener usually  standing between 10-20 and throw 8-15. I have medium revs and a medium  track. I throw league typical house pattern. The Burst is coming in a  light and I need something with more back end. I  also am looking to  complete an arsenal for some tournaments coming up. I looked at the new  World Beater and Taboo, and am most likely going to get one or the other  drilled with a strong layout. I think I made need something between the  Burst and whichever one I decide on getting. My pro shop guy raves  about the Nomad Solid, and I have heard excellent things about the  Burst. I was looking for feedback from people who know both balls that  can help me hone in on the right one.

Have you tried moving right with your Burst? Or a different surface. I don't think you need more backend, I think the burst is just going a little too long for you.

If 8-15 is your confort zone I would seek more mid lane roll rather than backend ball motion.   Outbrust be perfect for this situation.  I don't believe sanding your Burst would give you the same motion as the Outbrust

I am getting a World Beater drilled with a strong lay out. Will that leave enough gap between the Burst to fit the Outburst in there?

I followed your advice and got The Outburst. I bowled last night in a  league which I have been struggling(185 average). 268, 215, 210 for a  693 series. This ball is a beast nuff said. Thanks for the  recommendation.

It could always be something else.... but It Is what It Is.

Yes, to answer your question.  I have three balls currently between the World Beater and burst in my bags;  They are the outburst, the ransom, and the pure swing.

2010 is the first time joining a league since 1999. Over a 10 year lay off and I haven't lost much of my game.

HG-300 x 1, HS-780 (Nov. 2010)

In the Bag:

Columbia World Beater
Columbia Outburst
Columbia Ransom
Storm Invasion
Columbia Pure Swing
Columbia Burst
Storm Natural
Spare ball-T-Zone

As long as you communicate with your Pro Shop Operator what you want the OutBurst to do, you should be fine. The Burst and OutBurst will have similar looks on the lane, the OutBurst will just hook earlier and will have more traction in Oil.  This is because they have the same core, but different covers. Are you sure the ball just isn't finishing or could it be burning up early which would cause a similar effect.  The other thing is that you may simply have to slow the ball speed down a bit to get it to finish.
