Big Bully question
« on: October 15, 2005, 01:53:29 PM »
Hello Columbia folks...

Just wondering what type of reaction people have seen from the Big.  I've heard from some that it slides through the oil more than expected but the specs indicate that it should get into a roll (low rg).  I own the blue Bully and it's a great house ball (needs dry to make the turn) but not that great for heavier conditions.  I bowl on first shift synthetics sometimes (depends what end of the hall we're on) and the transition game is driving me nuts.  My Bully starts leaving 10 pins if I don't move and I just don't have a lot of options at this point.  I'd like to get a little left into the oil and go a bit more direct but the Bully doesn't handle that condition very well.  Just need something to carry better in heavier oil.

I don't have a Big Bully but a guy on my team does. This summer we moved to a different house and the lanes had a lot more oil then we usually had seen at the other house. Everyone was scrambling to make equipment changes but the guy with the Bully. He used it all season and smashed the pins.

Just my impression.

Nope... not the BIG oil ball.

I have an Ultimate Inferno (4x4, 3" pin, no X-hole) which I use for longer and/or heavier oil. My Big Bully (3" pin well above ring, cg in center of grip) needs oil but the real heavy stuff just mutes its reaction way too much... never flips hard enough. Now, these balls have different layouts, but not dramaticly so.
