Polished Resurgence?
« on: September 10, 2008, 05:49:10 AM »
I have a Resurgence and it's a great ball if there is enough oil.  However, I'm bowling in a traveling league this year and, out of six houses, I can't find enough oil to use this ball.

Has anyone tried it with polish or a surface change so that it can be used on more medium conditions?  If so, what changes did you make?

Thanks for the help.

I would try bumping it up to 4000 abralon (box is 1000) and see how it reacts before polishing it

I have one polished and it's perfect for the under/over lane conditions.  It's consistent and controllable.  No surprises with this ball when polished.  You can stand on top of it using polish

I tried mine at 1000, 2000, 4000 and never got a good read. I hit it with 1000 and put Track Clean & Sheen on top. It got through the heads and rolled really smooth and strong on the back. It even hit better.

Hated it before and love it now.

I tried mine out of the box, then at 4000, and we cleaner through the fronts and still made a strong move in the midlane.

This is a link to the video I made for it, when I did the testing on it.  You can see it at Box Finish, then at 4000.

Bill's video is a great example, polish is not always the answer for less oil... Take the surface up to 4000 and if that doesnt work very well, you should be using a different ball.

I do it all the time.  First I use the 1000 pad and then some ruff Buff.
If more length is needed,  go to a 2000 pad and ruff buff.  More yet, 4000 pad with polish.

But to me, the ball works best at 1000 or 2000 with ruff buff.  If you have to go higher then that for more length,  maybe you should be using a different ball.
