Impressed with New Columbia Products
« on: February 02, 2009, 01:36:58 AM »
I have to say that I am very impressed with all the Columbia 300 equipment. From the top of the line down to the beginner stuff. The top of the line products are very aggressive and the hitting power is great. The beginner stuff like the Jzz are very good quality products. I have been using the Perfect Rival for a few weeks now and the reaction and hitting power is very consistent from frame to frame. Columbia has also brought back some proven core from the old days and wrapped them with new covers. I am definitely sold on this new Columbia stuff even though they are now owned by Ebonite. I dont think Colubia 300 gets enough credit for their products.

I am impressed with their equipment as well. I go through stages where I will use different pieces for a few years and then switch to something else. I have used C300 in the past (Purple Pearl Beast and Ti-Boss) and scored very well. Usually I go back and forth between Columbia and Ebonite.

Right now I have 2 of the same ball and after a year, I am finally getting the chance to recognize the difference between the 2 reactions. It helps when the ball finally feels good in your hand.

The center I bowl in has year old synthetics and it seems that the lanemen finally have a hold on a pattern that works and have left it alone. Every now and then they alter the amount of oil used but it is never a huge difference.

I have found c300 equipment to read the midlane very well with very strong backend reactions. I don't find them to be extremely "flippy" but it also has to do with the layout and cover prep.

I am at a cross roads right now because I am in need of a PEARL ball and one that is a bit weaker. I am looking at either the LOUD NOIZE or the WRATH DEAD FLUSH if I can find one. Maybe even a Momentum....guess I need to do some research and ask the driller some questions. I need something to step down to.....something with a bit more length to go to when the RIVALS are too much.

Don't bowl enough to keep buying balls though so I really can't say much on the entire line...

I have a couple of the new c300 pieces and love them both, i know a couple of regional players who have done very well with there C300 pieces as well.  As with any company not everyone will match up perfectly but they have enough variety that there is something for everyone.

i would def. go with the dead flush if you can find one. my impression of the loud noize, although ive never thrown it, seems to be earlier and smoother than the dead flush because of the strong cover. my dead flush is great. very skid/flippy and def. needs significant friction to make a move
