when a polished ball is thrown and creates a track in the ball it is breaking down the polish so the surface that is touching the lane becomes duller so naturally it will still have the characteristics of the ball but the reaction will be less skid/flippy and more even rolling. most of the time with a ball like the bedlam it will become stronger overall

My impression is that the very last step in making a ball before they put it in the box, is to put a little polish on it so it looks good when the customer takes it out. So yes, when this "dressing" wears off you get to see the real finish.

Just wanna know how you drilled your Bedlam? Will be getting this ball soon. The oiling pattern - THS with easy carry down. Pls advice, thanks.

I drilled my Bedlam with a 5 1/2 inch pin to pap.  The pin is about a 3/4 of an inch above the bridge and ring finger.  The mass bias is about 2 1/2 inches from right edge of the thumb.  A small balance hole was placed on the pap to keep it legal.  

The Bedlam is a very good skid/snap ball with a backend that will rival ANY ball on the market as far as angularity is concerned.  Don't be afraid to try it.

Back in the day, I used to be a dedicated Columbia man, but moved over to Storm in the late 90's.  These days, I really don't care who makes the ball as long as it is a good piece of equipment.  The Bedlam is the first Columbia ball that I have purchased in about 8 or 9 years.  I might be coming back "home" if they continue with more balls as good as this.  LOL!
