Hey all... I just posted a review for the Ransom Demand, noticed that there wasn't a spot to put a review for the Eruption yet, so I've posted it below.

I've had great success with the Resurgence core in the past.  Some of my favorite balls, all with this core, have been the Resurgence, Momentum, Momentum Swing, Burst, and OutBurst.  All of those balls had different covers and different cover preps, and I've altered the surface on those balls as well.

I've also had great success with pearlized covers on lower RG balls.  The Momentum's cover was a performance pearl, and going back to before 2007 (the year I signed with Columbia 300), I absolutely loved the V2 Pearl, an Ebonite ball with a low RG core and a performance pearl coverstock.  Even stretching it to just performance pearl covers, the Pure Swing, Ran$om, Freeze, and Sharp NoiZe all rolled very well for me.

Therefore, when I heard that Columbia 300 was taking one of my favorite cores and putting it in a performance pearl cover... I couldn't wait to throw the Eruption!

I drilled this ball with the pin next to and slightly above my ring finger.  This put it 4" from my PAP, 3" above my midline, and 2" from my VAL, with an extra hole 3" below and 2" beyond my PAP, 3/4" bit at 2.5" deep.  The ring finger was also drilled 2" deeper than normal.  The CG ended up between my grip center and my PAP.

This cover clears the heads better than any previous cover on the Resurgence/Burst core.  I have thrown it for about 15-20 games so far, and it looks like it will match up very well on patterns between 35-38' and/or when the lanes have had a significant amount of play on them.  I used a worn 2000 pad on the ball to take away a little of the shine, and this made the ball a little smoother and a little easier to control at the breakpoint.  I haven't taken the cover any lower than 1000, but it doesn't appear that the cover will match up well on a tremendous amount of volume regardless of the surface prep.  It does appear to match up extremely well on any variation of lighter and/or shorter patterns, as the core helps the ball to rev up quickly and promote predictability at the breakpoint, while the cover glides the ball through broken-down heads.  I expect it to roll very well on Cheetah, especially after a few games have been thrown on the pattern.  Pin carry is well above-average, and once the lanes have transitioned enough to allow the ball to come into play, there does not seem to be a reason to put it away...at least not for several hours!

Compared to other recent Columbia 300 products:  Please keep in mind that I am an all-around average tweener: a medium speed, medium revs right-hander with some tilt.  Your ball-to-ball comparisons may vary!

    a little longer and a little more angular than the Burst.
    a lot longer and a lot more angular than the OutBurst.
    about as long and a little more angular than the Sharp NoiZe.
    a little longer and about as angular as the World Beater.
    about as long and a little less angular than the Ransom.
    about as long and a little smoother than the Freeze.
