Power Swing
« on: February 19, 2009, 01:52:02 AM »
Havnt heard too much on this ball from others. I picked one up a couple of weeks ago and its been very impressive. The new core revs up really good like the Resurgence core but gives a bit more pop in the back of the lane. And the cover still lets it pickup in the mids. If taken down to 1000, it will easily match the Resurgence in oil handling. I really think this ball is very capable of being a contender for BoTY

It is good but not as good as The magic, having both I can tell you it is step down from the pure fun of throwing a Magic.

The Magic reads the mids better and turns over harder, PS is great but magic is just that magic. Remember I do not like that danged Striking Motion at all I still am stuck with, I will post real thoughts on these balls.

I pay for all of my stuff no staffer blowing it up you behind with me posting.

The Magic does look like a really good reacting ball. Saw one in action last night...

Do you have any details about the core or any other pictures of it. They are calling it a "magic symmetric mass bias" core. What does that mean.. It is symmetric except for the part where the mass bias is??  Isn't that typically an asymmetric core?

Uh...wasnt I comparing it to other balls in the Columbia line.  I guess a ball has to have huge backends and roll at the arrows to be considered boty potential.

I am shocked to hear anyone saying it revs up faster than the Resurgence and has more pop....I just punched mine up (4.75 x 4) today and while it is a pretty good ball, it just reminds me of the original Rival. I am yet to see the pop on the back that I get from the Resurgence on this piece.

I was expecting the PS to be a touch stronger than my Break s75 and it ended up being the same amount of ball as the Hot Sauce a little earlier and a lot less backend. And it is about 5 or 6 boards weaker than the Break s75. The only thing I have noticed that I am not sure about the PS is that is seems sensitive to the oil in the middle when forced to move the feet a little left but I can just go to the Break or Hot Sauce when that happens....definitly a good ball though when there is enough head oil to play the track area.

I personally don't think that this ball Revs up faster than the Resurgance, but IMO I do believe that the continued motion through the pin deck is what sets this ball apart

my powerswing rolls great on a house pattern. 750, 803 so far. reads the lane well. On a tough pattern the ball with the layout thats on it doesn't match. Love the ball and would drill another for a tough pattern.
