i know this is a 10 year old ball, but is it worth plugging and re-drilling? i'm headed to the nationals in june, but i have mostly light oil bowling balls, since the house i shoot in is wood and fairly dry. i have some resin equipment, but fairly tame comparatively. let me know if the primal rage, by today's standards, will hook on a heavy oil pattern. thanks in advance.

By today's standard of strong solid particles, the Primal Rgae is a step down, but not very far. With its solid Super-Flex coverstock (I believe it was 600 grit sanded dull originally.) and its low RG and high flaring core, it can easily handle medium-heavy oil for those with at least TRUE average revs and not high ball speed. Today's strongest balls can handle true heavy oil; the PR can handle the next step down. It should be useful at Nationals if it is re-surfaced and rejuvenated; it must have absorbed a lot of oil over the past 10 years or so.
