i was looking for a ball specifically for light oil or when a whole week of open bowling has really spotty. the urethanes, i heard, dont react strongly to dry as the reactives, so i was looking at the Columbia Trooper. i was wondering if anybody had it was willing to tell me the actual color of it. on this site, the ball looks polished like glass almost while on www.bowling.com the ball looks rather dull. not that it matters, but i would like to know what the real color looks like. thanks

the tropper does come dull. Itis not polished. The color of the ball is orange, gold with some red? i think?

HAs the scout core, right ppl?

i do know the colors and it has the core you said but i was wondering if the color was closer to the one on this site or the one on bowling.com. columbia said it is pearlized.

Have a trooper...comes dull...touched it up with a bit of Extender Polish and is a great ball for when the lanes are fried up.  Will be in my bag for a long time...

Color wise....would say mine is about 50 percent rust colored....black swirls..and bottom of ball is mostly purple.  Trooper is half in reddish orange and half in green.  Looks much better once polished....

Kingpin,

Keep in mind that on drier lane conditions, not medium-light, but light or less oil, a pearl resin or a highly polished mild solid resin will skid longer than even a pearlized urethane ball. The pearl urethane will hook less once it grabs the lane than most resin balls - that is its strength, in today's environment: a controlled hook.
