Assuming they are both great...and without them being released...let's say if u were preordering it.
Id go with with you like, plain and simple.
I break it down like this. Of the 10 houses I bowl in per year, plus what has worked in previous years at nationals, state etc..
What u average higher with? What gets the most use? What are your honor scores with?
I still buy every brand but only religiously buy what works for me...
I'm a Roto fan, but I can say both encounters do look appealing. There unfortunately aren't any great bowlers throwing them around my neck of the woods. On the other side of the coin I'm going to get the defiant because my theory is due to be replaced. 4 x 300s and an 8 just with the theory...I think roto earned its spot in my bag. The question is...what will work for u. I'm one of the few who thought the theory was an improvement on the cell, hopefully the defiant will do the same.
They both will hook a ton in oil....id say do u bowl better with your 716c or your shooting star...cause theoretically your buying a stronger version of either one.
