drilling help/suggestions for freeze
« on: November 14, 2009, 07:52:55 AM »
I'll be picking up a Freeze (no later than wed.) and need some help on how i should have it drilled.

It is going to be used on pro anvil lanes, ths (not sure how long), full 5 man team.

My VG is way too much here and the VE works for a 1 to 1 1/2 games. Then i get split city (drives thru deck, 4,7,10 / 4,9 / 6,7,10)

my stats: "A" game Up the back, axis rotation <45 deg, low axis tilt, speed 15.5-18, revs (guessing) 275-300.

current arsenal VG,VE,Rising,Hex-plosion,Toxic.

Its been a while since my last columbia ball (pro hook extreme, rock solid, and have my brothers green messenger-needs plugged/redrilled). know nada about the messenger other than my brother would put as much polish as he could.

any suggestions
thanks

5" pin to PAP

Touched it with a gold scotchbrite pad to tame it down at the breakpoint and moved 2-3 boards deeper at the arrows with more midlane bite down lane.

This ball is a killer deal.  I'd put it up against other symmetric pearls that retail for $30-$40 more. (Rattler, Boom, Nomad Pearl, Reign, etc...)

You could have some overlap with the Freeze and Toxic, but that depends on surface prep, how many games are on the Toxic and how it's laid out.

Mine is laid out with a pin up 4x4 layout and the ball moves. Its weaker than my Virtual Energy but not a ton, i wouldn't suggest drilling it to strong if you have hand, the cover on that ball has some strength.

What would 4 1/2" pin to pap (pin under fingers). Drilling #1 but put the pin down (would then be drilled similar to me VE).

My toxic is drilled similar - leveraged and at this house it tends to go too long.

otherwise i''m considering the #4 drilling - pin above brige (5 -5 1/2" form pap)

It seems so far there is 2 for the 5" drilling and 1 for 4"
