Big Shot
« on: March 10, 2007, 04:53:46 AM »
Everyone is complaining about the Pheonix, but what about the Big Shot ?

I drilled up mine and by far, this is the best ball Columbia has released in a long time.  It gets down the lane and has a nice pop at the backend.

I hope Ebonite continues to produce this ball, it would be a shame if they did not.

stan,   well put.   the big shot has been right up there in sales with the tnv.
"in our shop."   and i only wish we had the chance to get the phoenix.

and when someone comes on and repeats a message that he claims he got from the breakfast club at ebonite saying that the phoenix did not meet ebonite's standards,   well that really upsets me.  because most people will not understand what that really meant.

thanks for your good review.

about the Phoenix.  You are wrong.

I think he meant that people complain that the phoenix will not be produced, when they say nothing about the bigshot not being produced... you are both in agreement but you don't know it lol.

I used to throw Columbia back in the old days of 75-85 and shot my biggest set with a red dot. Didn't throw another Columbia ball till I drilled a Big Shot last Thursday night. I saw it had the rg that fits my game to a T.

Shot 246-236-248 clean out of box. Left 4-10 picked it up. Left one 4 pin and about 6-7 10 pins. Rest were strikes. I was surprised in how the ball hooked for me. I could play the ball a bit deeper in oil or swing just a touch and it would carry. I also read this ball was close to the Track Phoenix and wanted to see if the ball would work for my game.

I guess it did OK.

Thankfully I was able to get a hold of a Big Shot today.  I haven't decided if I am going to drill it or not. Really don't need it in my arsenal right now and considering it is the last TRUE C300 ball i kinda would like to keep it for historical purposes.

If you want one for historical purposes....get two.  Drill one of these up.  I threw nothing but Columbia when I was a youth, but after coming back to the game when I was 22, their equipment did not quite match up with me.  I was determined to get one that I would like.

I had mine drilled and wow....that's all I need to say.  If you drill one, you will not be dissapointed.

Had a hard enough time getting the one.  Besides I really don't need it right now my arsenal is complete as is.  Maybe someday down the road I will but for now I'm not

Is it really that hard to get one?  I was unaware of that.
