Rival and Wrath High Flush...

Looking to revamp my arsenal and had a few questions for you C300 heads...

-Is there enough difference between these two balls to validate getting both?

-I've read the Rival will handle more oil, but how much?  

-How different are the two if drilled the same with OOB surface?

-How different would they be if drilled the same but took the cover of the Rival down some? or, polished the WHF?

-If the Rival was drilled stronger and the WHF is drilled weaker, how much difference would there be with the same surface?

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated...TIA!!!

2 entirely different balls, can not think that these 2 balls are anything alike. The Rival is far more an oil lover than the Wrath High Flush is.

So you're saying these two balls might make a good 1-2 punch for medium-heavy to medium oil???  I rarely see anything too heavy and never see anything really dry...burned up medium is about as dry as it gets at my house.

Yes they would make a great 1-2 punch so to say, The Wrath High Flush in a little more angular, while the Rival is a little earlier and more of a arc

OK...I got my new toys drilled up and gave them a four-game test run this afternoon.

These two balls are an awesome 1-2 punch.  Rival...clears heads well, strong read in mids, with strong, continuous backend.  WHF...easily gets down the lane and makes a hard, angular move when it hits the dry boards on the backend.

I think I'm really going to like this combo.

so would you suggest a resurgence, rival, and a HF for a decent, league arsenal, or what you add a momentum to that?

Honestly, I think it would depend on how much oil you bowl on.  Unless you bowl on heavy oil a lot, I think the Rival would be the strongest ball you would need.  I don't think I would put both a Rival and a Momentum in my arsenal, they would probably overlap too much...one or the other would suffice.

If you see a lot of heavier oil, and I mean true "heavy oil", then you may need a Resurgence to go with these two on the higher end.  

If you see more lighter oil conditions, I would consider either a Wrath Dead Flush or a Jazz to compliment the Rival/WHF combo on the lower end.

Of course, you should also take into consideration how you are going to drill the balls and how you are going to prepare the coverstocks in order to cover all your conditions...

Take my opinion for what its worth...this is just my $.02 from my FOUR GAME experience with the Rival/WHF and from looking at the numbers/hearing about/seeing videos of the other balls...as they say, results may vary...

No they are not drilled the same way.  I don't have the exact measurements but I have the Rival drilled very close to 4x4 (stacked) with the pin just right of the ring finger and the WHF is drilled a little weaker, close to 5x4, with the pin above the ring finger and the CG kicked slightly toward my PAP.  Also, I'm not sure of the exact side weights are but in talking with my driller, both are well within the legal limits.

Both are in OOB condition (4000 abralon).  The reaction of each ball was exactly what I was wanting/hoping for.  At this point, I don't think I need to make any coverstock adjustments to either ball...the look/reaction is different enough as it is...the perfect compliment to each other.

As long as you drill them properly, they would be a great 1-2 punch.  I think that you could put a "hand friendly" drill on a Rival (4.5 pin to PAP, pseudo MB under thumb).  and a 5.5 to 6" pin to PAP drill on a Wrath HF for when they dry out.  All you would need to do is adjust the surfaces if necessary for the house or houses you bowl in.
