Old Columbia help

I was wondering if anyone knows what the box surface was on the original Boss, I believe they called it "steel."  All I can find is matte.

To quote the informational pamphlet that originally came in the box:

"... The BOSS is finished at the factory with wet 600 grit sandpaper."

The original BOSS was one of my favorite balls.
