Title: RIVAL and Polish
Post by: hotshot187 on December 08, 2007, 03:22:33 AM
How many of you guys are using the rival with polish?  I currently have it in box condition, but thinking of putting a light coat on it.

I did it and it works great for me.  I can roll this ball on just about anything, it's great.

Hey Chawk, how many boards did you gained by polishing up the Rival? My Rival is oob surface and it hooks alot. It hooks as much as my Gamebreaker which I sanded down to 1000 abalon.

Where I stand and my target line didn't change much (1 maybe 2 boards) but it went 3' or 4' longer and was a little sharper on the backend, but still controllable.

I am just looking for a bit more length mine reads the mids a bit too soon for me.  So I was thinking of hitting it with some polish to give me a little extra length and still give me a nice backend reaction.

I put some polsih to mine and it worked great. Since I throw a little faster then most (about 19 mph average) I had to move right a little at first, but it gave it more length and more controlled break point. I lost very little carry, if any, and allowed me to play a wider set of lane conditions. On the slightly heavier oil I could still play down and in with it, but it allowed me to stay with it longer as the lanes broke down before having to change balls. I think you would get exactly what you are looking for if you shined it.

Uh-oh, Rexie, I don't think this one's got the distance."
