Total Bedlam Mini Review
« on: December 21, 2009, 12:26:30 PM »
I got my Total Bedlam in the mail today and was happy to get it, this one I have been waiting for. I got EXACTLY what I was expecting, awesome midlane read with a huge amount of backend continuation. It is without a doubt the strongest C300 ball I have thrown. The new 6.0 shell with the new core really compliments each other well. The new finish is great for midlane read and not allowing the ball to burn up to much and saving energy for where you need it most, the backend. The thing I noticed the most was how crisp the pocket shots were, just 10 back every time. This ball has some power that would rival any HP ball I have ever thrown. I tossed 19 out of 20 my first 20 shots before I moved to another pair with carrydown.

THS 41 feet fresh

This ball was made for this!! It really shows its strength when its fresh. It starts to transition into a roll much sooner then the Full Swing and has a noticeable difference in hooking ability. I would say mine was 4-6 more boards overall and atleast a foot sooner, I could not throw it past the breakpoint which really impressed me with my speed.

THS 41 feet carry-down.

This ball was pretty good on the carry-down. The Total Bedlam is SO strong as with any other aggressive ball you might have to put it away when the lanes burn up, I had to move in pretty deep to keep it in some oil up front and it kept making the turn. This ball will be awesome the first couple games of league or possibly all night depending on your surface and amount of oil used. But until then you will absolutely destroy the pocket with this ball.

Columbia 300 has made a real winner with this one, it is as impressive as advertised! Thanks for reading my review.

Cliff,

I'm going to Nationals for the first time in April.  Would the Total Bedlam be the ball for the normally long, flat pattern or would the Pure Swing be a better choice?  I have medium speed and medium to low rev rate.  Thanks!!

I will have some videos up after the new year, on vacation right now with family. Sorry Urban. I would say compared to a resurgence it would be much stronger on the backend with about the same type of midlane reaction. So you would like it to fill that gap. Luvtobowl, I think the TB would be one for nationals you could use on the fresh. It LOVES fresh and heavier volumes. With your medium speed and revs I think the Total Bedlam would be better then a Pure

As a Staff member that has thrown all the balls in the last 5 yrs. The Resurgence was a GREAT ball but I can not compare it to anything out right now. The Full Tilt cover is unbelievable. From the Bedlam w/ FT 4.0 and the Full Swing with FT 5.0 I didnt think I would see a Columbia ball out hook that .....well as cliff knows , Im wrong. within the coming weeks we have the Pure Swing FT 6.0w/ Pearl its amazing to see the ball skid in the heads and as soon as the sees friction .....Watch out for the LEFT TURN !!!! Now this Total Bedlam .....WOW!!! Im happy to say that out west in AZ I can not find enough oil to throw this ball but as talked about this will be a GREAT ball for the fresh in a PBAX League or Nationals. I have never seen a ball roll so smooth and have so much power behind it. I am happy to answer ANY questions not answered here.

That is about the same layout I used on mine. I went with a 50 degree Mass but the drilling angle and pin distance was the same. Look forward to hearing what you guys think.
