Ego = least sold, best ball!
« on: March 15, 2004, 08:14:28 AM »
I have not seen one on the lanes except mine.

I've posted a review on this ball and on first blush love it.

If you love the Throttle and Throttle R this will be very similar to the Throttle/r but earlier, and fit behind your Full Throttle and Throttle UP.

Maybe an incredible league ball, filling much of the medium condition SLOT thanks to the great Reaction Rev Core.

Reaction Rev core with Pearl wrapper.

Clean and strong at the back baby!

Similar to Smash/r from brunswick but cleaner in front and stronger at back.

My Time Zone from Brunswick has been a high scorer for me and this allowed me to move a little wider and clear the heads better and then have more backend.

Great medium condition ball.

would the EGO be a good ball to use after the full throttle gets too strong?

Used yesterday after travelling back to my home all synthetic center.

Did not appear to be oilly, (or as they say here, " A lot of EARRRRLLLLL, boy!, Slippery stuff!").  However after about 5 9 pins and numerous, 7s, I concluded that this high topweight, illegal sideweight ball is either too pearlly for this wet midlane shot, and it was time to plant a weighthole on the val and see if lower top and side picked up the move just a touch earlier.

Still loved the look.  Unfortunately the very unexciting Time Zone saved the day!  But it din't move good!

A little update.

I've been going to another one of the centers in the area which has shorter oil!!

I'm really struggling up here with too much reaction, until they put out the longer oil for tournaments.

Went over yesterday and just like league the other day was able to play straight up 9 and strike easily with my Sonic Pearl, but really no area!
Ball out to 8 goes high, pulled a board into oil leaves a bucket!

Wanted a touch of area and thought well something pearl that has a little more diff!  But that Ego, really too strong.  Well anyway I've been driving ball alittle better to the breakpoint why not try.  Lots of skid and energy can swing it 12 to 7 or 11 to 6 with lots of recovery and awesome carry power!  This on wood lanes.

Knocked out a couple of high games I'll tell you do not miss inside with this thing or short!!!!  It takes off.  But if drive it and rev it it will do a lot of work for you!

As noted in another post the Wired with a bigger faster handed player than I is tearing it up in this house! This Ego for the average speed and hand bowler is a lot of performance. (gets down the lane farther than wired with less speed).

REgards,

Luckylefty
PS also tried the Fuze Ignitor and couldn't get it going on this surface!
PPS Have seen the Alter Ego in this house and because it is solid particle and assymetric it is very different(much earlier and can for a dull ball be quite angular.  The only thing these two share is a last name of EGO!
PPPS I still think the shot is somewhere between these two balls, say something like a Hot Rod or a ball with diff in the .33 range vs Sonic X pearl .20, and Ego .44(tough to tame).

Just saw a review of this ball that says not for oil.

Sort of true!!!  Out of box!!!  Note guy that is tearing the 800s and 790s out of our wood house shot is using a Wired(same coverstock, lower rg), and throws fast(18 or 19) at pin deck.

He uses his wired scuffed slightly dull!

I like my Ego alot too, i had the full throttle, and throttle, and throttle-r and it's very similar to the throttle-R, it's a little less in the backend and has more midlane read, for me. It gives me less over under than the throttle- R did.

For me this ball is great on mediums with clean backends, ball is really nice too, but is over under on mediums with carrydown. but it is working out as a good replacement for my throttle-r.

oh and one of the best carrying balls for me.

Today bowled with a guy that is tearing em up with a Wired.  2 guys actually.

Them on the right me on left.  Both of them faster than me.

I took my Ego and my slightly softer speed(I was moving in tonight for me).

Played a very similar line and just really had a pretty shot.  Just get inside the oil and just touch the dry at the breakpoint.  Beautiful swing and carry and energy retention.  This coverstock is high energy on both the Wired and the Ego.  If you love to swing even in the Heads and have strong speed then the Wired.  Slightly softer and want your swing to be farther downlane, the Ego.

This coverstock stuff is exciting, high energy and lots of flip and carry!

Just have to say this is such a fun ball! So much energy at the pocket and so much movement and reaction. Maybe it can be a control ball but I find that this is the total trust is a must ball.

Free wheel thru this ball and generate revs and speed and it WILL recover and move the pins every which way!

It doesn't move the same but to me is an earlier version of all of those pearl pancake puck balls.  Dynamic Groove, Scout pearl reactive.  Give em room and watch em fly!
