The center I've bowled at for 13 years is closing on the 17th.  Going through the "ball room" (no pro shop here), I found a Stingray/C which was an old friend of mine who started drilling his stuff years ago with the same specs as mine.  Needless to say it fits.  Was curious as to what kind of cover/ core this thing has in it.  It's in excellent shape to say the least.  maybe 10-15 scratches on it period and I don't believe it's been resurfaced either.  What should I expect out of this ball?

According to that, it's a 2 piece urethane.  I'm not familiar with Columbia's 2-piece urethanes, but I imagine if it's like any others it would be a very nice control piece.

Well, the Stingray/C wasn't *quite* like the others, because of the Cuda/C core.  That made the 'Ray a real sleeper for drier mediums back in its day;  it flared like the big boys, but it didn't go nutso at the break the way a reactive ball did.

hmmmm...like what I'm hearing.  Wasnt going to use it till I changed centers but the family is bowling tonight for one last hoorah so I think i'll take it since the lanes havent been oiled since yesterday.  Thanks for the info guys.  Didn't have the cuda/c though wanted it at the time.  I was thinking this was urethane so that's actually good to hear.  thanks.  This ones not as green as that pic.

I will definately agree with that still today.  I left it dull and if it got outside to the dry too early it was DOA at the pocket.  Keeping it inside was great as it carried pretty well, better than any other urethane I've thrown.  Will polish and see how it goes then.
