Columbia and Dynothane???
« on: June 12, 2006, 06:29:29 PM »
The guy who orders equipment through the college I go to, just called his distributor the other day (he was checking on a pair of dynothane shoes) and he was told that all shipping has been stopped from the Dynothane warehouse because dynothane and Columbia were merging?  Has anyone else heard anything about this???

Replied to your other post.  There are also plenty of messages in the DT and Columbia forums back from the beginning of May when it was announced.

two words for you...

Strategic Alliance.

Not a buyout.  Not a merger.  Not a monopoly.  Merely an opportunity for both companies to utilize each other's strengths for their own benefit.

Storm has not owned Dynothane since Phil purchased Dynothane from them 4-5 years ago. Phil has been based out of San Antonio since then with Dynothane. Storm was simply making the balls for Dyno, just as Brunswick makes Lane1/MoRich, but does not own them.

Storm owned Dynothane and sold it to Columbia. If Dynothane was just using the facilities of Columbia why would Columbia offer him a job?

Storm didn't own DT, nor does Columbia own them now.  They manufacture balls for DT.  DT is its own company, with their own chemists, designers, and management.

I doubt NewGuy reads the Columbia forum, and if you'll search through the Dynothane forun, you'll find he already gave his answer.

thanks for responding, and sorry didn't know this had already been talked about, I did a quick little search before I did this, and found nothing, but I guess I didn't look hard enough.  so I guess it is true, very interesting, should be good for both companies.
