Super Trooper = ball of the year to date
« on: May 02, 2004, 09:40:03 PM »
You guys thought the Detour was amazing....The Super Trooper is a whole different Animal.  I was throwing a friend's super trooper on a broken down house pattern with the pin out 4 inches at 2 o clock and the C.G 1 inch right of the center of the gripline.  This ball gets great length but the Recovery on this ball is freaking amazing.  With this core you would really think the ball is very rolly and just a step up from the Scouts.....WRONG!  This Superflex coverstock makes the ball extremely backend aggressive, but strong arcing and predictable.  This is the closest ball that Columbia has made to the original Solid Pulse in awhile and it is very similar to the V2 Clean from Ebonite.

Then....

Just to see what this ball was capable of, we laid out PBA pattern E1.  Wow, this ball really shines on this condition.  Which such violent backend, this ball smoothened out the condition and gave us hold area down the lane when other balls were too aggressive at the breakpoint.  This is definately a steal at the price range, and I have yet to mention how hard this thing hits.....Jeez.

Jeff Mop, have you gotten yours yet?  If you liked the Red Pulse and Retro Piranha you'd love this.  Perfect 1-2 combo with the Detour.

Drier outsides? we got a whole countries worth of dry outsides here just waiting for this ball(of course all the house shooters will keep drilling every type of Throttle they can get their hands on, oh well) My Pulse isn't quite dead yet and i still haven't found a Renegade anywhere so i at least know the easy way out when the Pulses labels disappear!(assuming distributors out here play ball and actually import the thing)

Depends, warehouses out here sometimes get caught with stuff for a couple of yrs (AMF mainly, who bring C300 and Ebonite/Hammer into oz, Heritage Bay get caught with stuff at times, they still have nib Battle Zones,Imperial Quantums,Aulby MVP to name a few) so some stuff can run out quicker than others these days as they aren't as keen to order up big. I can remember people having to direct import the Green Messenger as no distributors picked it up initially, that changed after a couple months though. So some balls may get re-ordered while some won't, bit of a lottery really

DP3, I'm confused.  How does a ball with violent backend supposed to compare to a solid Pulse?  Isn't that the ultimate control ball?  Compliment the Detour?  Sounds like too similar of a reaction to carry both.  Violent backend to smooth out the breakpoint?

Strider. on PBA PAttern E which is on the short side, with about 35 feet of backend pretty much everything you throw will be violent on the backend.  This has that same Strong backend look from the pulse, it just gets down the lane a few feet more
