Super Trooper vs Pirahna Retro
« on: September 10, 2004, 12:40:23 AM »
After the initial bloom I haven't heard anything about Super Trooper.

Still a winner?

REgards,

PS anyone know how two above compare?

The Super Trooper is a gem for the price.  It's not going to give you a whole lot of flare, but it rolls really even and predictable.  I think the reason you haven't heard much is because it's not a very "exciting" ball.  I mean that it doesn't do backflips or anything.  However, if you need a ball for the dry that's not going to do a whole lot, this is it.

Piranha Retro is more in the midlane than the Super Trooper and more ball overall IMO.  I've thrown both and while they are very similar, the Super Trooper finds home on drier and broken down shots whereas the Piranha has an aggressive enough core to be played on fresher mediums, or be played in the oil line.  The Super Trooper tends to squirt in oil down lane where the Piranha stays smooth.  They are similar in the fact that they are both rolly balls that don't jerk at the breakpoint, it's just that the Super Trooper needs more dry to be effective than the Piranha Retro.
