The Freeze
« on: November 10, 2009, 08:21:56 AM »
Just punched one up recently. Initial impressions are this is one helluva strong ball for the price point. The ball definitely will be a great house shot stud ball and great later shift ball on broken down patterns.

Haven't got a ton of use on it yet. I punched mine up with a pretty standard 4x4 layout with the pin up, no weight hole needed and no surface adjustments yet. Watch out for this thing as you cannot beat it for the price.

I'd have to agree.  Finally saw a decent bowler use one last week.  Nice easy length and pretty good pop on the back.  Not terribly flippy, but a pretty strong, continuous move after the mid lane.

At $5-10 more than a Razyr... what was Ebonite/Columbia thinking? LOL

5x4.5 layout, broke the OOB surface with a gold pad and it's still plenty big.

I have not thrown a better ball from inside lines than the Freeze. One of my all time favorite's. Take the price into consideration and you won't find many if any better.

Plugged and redrilled mine last night.  Took it down with a green scotchbrite, and then hit it with some Secret Sauce.

I haven't thrown it yet.  Didn't realize factory was 4000 abralon, so I don't know what to expect.  Without any abralon I'm limited to 2000 grit wet/dry, Clean 'n Smooth (1500), Clean 'n Sheen (1000 grit), or Ebonite Factory Finish (~ 1000 grit).

This ball is on par with equipment that costs 50-75 bucks more from other companies.  I just punched one up Saturday and bowled 255 the first game out of the box.  Mine has a label drill and I think I'll be using it a great deal, on PBA and league shots.

Well someone screwed up...

Because of the Freeze Line,  you may now start to see balls like the Bash, Clash, Boom, Smash, Fast, and Furious at reduced prices.......

It would be nice to see some of these sell,,,  cause I think most pro shops are tired of dusting them off....."oh ya, I'm way out of line here"  << jay leno.

By the way, the latest reviews of the Cool Noize are up...  Looks like a couple of "donks" don't like the ball.  Why does BR delete some replies & threads, but don't delete reviews by the trolls of these boards..  Makes me wonder if someone associated w/BR is one of the trolls posting some of this stuff.  It seems to be the same offenders time & time again.....  Sorry, rant off.

magicmike, this looks like it could be a pretty decent ball.

I picked up a freeze for when the lanes are to dry to throw my VE.  I've thrown it on 2 nights now.

The first night was for the 3rd game and with not having any practice with it (was just drilled) and not knowing just how much of a differance it would be. In that house i ave 177 and for the first time of throwing the freeze i had a 170 (a lot of operator error in that game)

This morning i wasnt able to throw practice(shadow balls) got to the lanes just as scoring was starting.  This house normally has more oil than wed night so i started with the VE, the 4th frame i changed to the Freeze and i again was dealing with a learning curve (break-in) finding the OB with the ball 166 for game 1. I got dialed in and game 2 was 249  and the 3rd game was 212

By the 3rd game i was stunned to noticed that i had moved to where i normally start the shift out throwing the VE.  Granted the lanes were drier but the hook this ball has i am VERY pleased with and is just what i needed under my VE.   This ball is even more reliable than my toxic that is drilled stacked leverage.

The price of this ball makes it soooooo tempting to buy 1 or 2 more just to have or give as x-mas presents. You can't imho go wrong with this ball.

Threw mine in league last night.  First time throwing it so I wasn''t sure what to expect.

I''ve haven''t been bowling much, and haven''t been bowling well, so I won''t get into numbers, but I will say that I did bowl my highest set of the season.

Oh, and other than chopping the 5 on a 2-5, I would have had a clean first game.  And my 3rd game was clean.  That''s good for me as I always find a way to whiff at least 1 easy spare!

It was nice having a consistent reaction for the entire night.

It''s balls like this and the Orbit Xtreme that give me faith in the mid to entry level balls.......especially on a THS.
