Throttle-R Questions

I have discovered that some people have this ball and was wondering what the verdict is on it?  What is its reaction and usefullness?  How is it compared to the Reaction Rip?

I’m going to have to disagree with you on this one. My Reaction Rip is very clean through the heads, and as long as you keep the polish up, it stays clean even as the heads start to get squirrely. It is by no means a dry lane ball, but handles medium and ‘breaking down’ medium very well. It has also proven to have a very durable coverstock.
I haven’t thrown or even seen a Throttle/R, but looking at Columbia’s numbers, it appears to be stronger in oil than the Reaction Rip. The Rip was rated at 17 in oil and 25 in dry for a total hook rating of 42. The Throttle/R is rated at 20 and 28, which puts it closer to a Wicked B/R/T than a Rip. It has a taller and flippier core with a much higher differential than the Wicked B/R/T, and it is pearlized, so it should be much more skid/flippy than the B/R/T, which is a pretty even rolling ball. Looking at the overall design of the Throttle/R, it looks like a slighty stronger version of the Reaction Rip, with similar RG and Differential numbers, and a tall flippy core. I would think that on today’s oils, it would replace the Rip nicely.

Put a fresh coat of polish on a Rip and do the comparison. I'd be interested to see the results. It might save me some $$
